Born Kelly Rogers Howard, I changed my name change to James Roger Clark
at age 18.
My father Kelly Rupert Howard (killed in 1943) was son of
John Irvin Howard and Pocahontis Huntie Cousins, all reared settled in
and around Princeton, Missouri where their parents and grandparents had
homesteaded near Lucerne.
My mother Bessie Ines Wendt was by James H. Wendt of Indiana (served in
33rd Indiana Infantry, Union Army) and his wife Clarissa Jane Walters of
Galloway (near Springfield) Missouri.
Especially seek information on Wendts and Walters, but also on
great-great-grandfather Elkanah Hamilton Howard and his wife Mary Denton.
I know whereabouts of Elkanah's and Mary's grave site near Lucerne, Mo.
Two half-brothers on maternal side were Henry Muncel Hopkins and
David McPherson Hopkins, both now deceased.
Two half-brothers and a half-sister on paternal side are Earl Dean Howard,
Virgil Eugene Howard, and Frances Pauline Howard, all still living
in August 1999.
